Beth Nelson is a two time breast cancer survivor. First diagnosed in 1995, at the age of 37, Beth underwent surgery and radiation and was clear of cancer for 14 years before it returned again in the same breast in 2009. Beth then underwent a total mastectomy and has endured numerous subsequent reconstructive surgeries. As a single mom, and not knowing anyone else who had been diagnosed with breast cancer, Beth went through her cancer journey without the kind of support she really needed. When Beth found The CARE Project, she found friendship; she found a home. Beth is keenly aware of how important The CARE Project is for cancer patients and survivors and is passionate about raising breast cancer awareness and providing patients with the loving support they need and deserve.
